Jujo Thermal and TPL to showcase new heat-sealable SHIELDPLUS® barrier papers at Fachpack 2024
Jujo Thermal, in partnership with its distribution partner TPL, will exhibit at Fachpack from 24 - 26 September 2024. This year’s highlight will be the unveiling of the latest barrier papers, heat-sealable SHIELDPLUS® Graphic HS 75 and SHIELDPLUS® Graphic HS 100.
These new heat-sealable SHIELDPLUS® Graphic HS grades offer a comprehensive solution for flexible packaging, combining heat sealability, printability, and recyclability to streamline the converting process. The new products are recyclable, fibre-based alternative to traditional pouch packages that rely on barrier films made from plastics or aluminium.
The SHIELDPLUS® barrier papers are composed of wood-based fibres coated with a water-based barrier layer, designed for direct contact with dry, moist, and fatty food products. This innovative material delivers an optimal balance between low weight and high barrier performance, providing protection against gas, solvents, and mineral oils.
The companies will present together the whole SHIELDPLUS® barrier paper range, emphasizing its potential for flexible packaging applications. Visitors to Hall 3, Stand 3A-317 will not only have the opportunity to discover the latest developments in the SHIELDPLUS® portfolio but will also be able to explore a range of sample products from collaborative projects.
Featured samples include pouches printed using HP Indigo 25K Digital Presses, produced in collaboration with digital printing leader HP Indigo. These pouches are made from unbleached SHIELDPLUS® BR 60 and SHIELDPLUS® Graphic 65 grades. Recyclable SHIELDPLUS® Graphic 65 grade is a white barrier paper that delivers optimal printing performance. SHIELDPLUS® BR 60 is a brown grade that is both recyclable and biodegradable.
The use of barrier paper as a flexible packaging material is still relatively new to many printers and packagers and thus new expertise across the value chain is needed. This is where Jujo Thermal and TPL can provide valuable assistance.
