Ecological technology

As a method, thermal printing is ecological. The machines are small and reliable, and their energy consumption is relatively low. Thermal printing produces less waste than other techniques.

Circular economy and direct environmental impacts

We strive to reduce the direct environmental impact by improving the production rate, increasing recycling and reuse. We aim to utilise by-products and waste generated during production primarily as raw materials or energy. The mill has a waste sorting program and a wastewater cleaning facility.

All our pulp is from controlled forests. Over 95% of the pulp we use is FSC ®  and  PEFC™ certified. Despite the limited availability, we strive to increase the share of certified pulp.

Energy efficiency

Jujo Thermal uses heat (steam) to dry paper, and also uses electricity and gas. Electricity is mainly used to power machinery and equipment. Through continuous development, we aim to reduce the use of energy per ton of paper produced. The main part of our consumed thermal energy is generated from recycled material. Jujo Thermal is committed to an energy efficiency agreement for energy intensive industry.

Ecological deliveries

Jujo Thermal favours environmentally friendly delivery forms. In practice, this means using trains and cargo ships for deliveries whenever possible.
